There’s a chill in the air and though it’s sad to see summer go it’s time to gear up for a busy holiday season. For today though let me tell you what has been happening through the summer and early fall! We had a couple fun shows at Mohegan Sun in CT and the Cicada Festival at Mt. Gretna, PA with We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered. Fantastic sell-out crowds and wonderful Technical and Hospitality teams. We made some new friends!
We released our CD for the Carpenters’ shows entitled We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered (surprise, surprise!) and have had a wonderful response to it. It was recorded in Nashville with our fantastic band, John Billings our Recording Engineer, Harry Sharpe Music Directing, Conducting and Producing, Mark Brett our Executive Producer, and Grammy winner Neal Cappellino our Mixing Engineer. Please consider purchasing a copy or downloading any or all of the tunes. It’s available on CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon. Hope you enjoy it and happy listening!
I had the great, good fortune to open for comic legend, Bob Newhart with a 10-piece Big Band at Casino Rama north of Toronto. Bob was a sweetheart and still in fine form and the band was amazing – some familiar faces among them – and all a pleasure to work with. The Technical crew and the Hospitality teams here also top-notch. And of course always a pleasure to perform back home in Canada. Seems like only yesterday that Casino Rama opened and I was singing there with Ascension Groove in the Silver Nightingale Lounge. My how things have changed!
Also, had the thrill of a lifetime meeting and speaking with the great singer Dionne Warwick at her Granddaughter, Cheyenne Elliott’s 21st Birthday party at The Leonora in NYC. I still can’t believe I had the chance to meet her! I was severely tongue-tied but did manage to express my admiration of her singing. She was a very good friend of Karen and Richard Carpenter which made it even more of a special meeting.
Next week off to Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida to perform at the Keith C. & Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center on Nov. 7 & 8 and then on to Cumberland, Maryland on Nov. 21 performing for the Tri-State Concert Association. Both with We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered. And then December hits and it is all about Christmas. Updates to follow!
Enjoy the fall and thank you all for staying in touch!
